Under the LIFE-2026-CET call for proposals, the topic BUILDSKILLS – National Platforms on energy efficiency skills for the clean energy transition supports increased coordination at national level to effectively deliver energy efficiency and renewable energy skills for the built environment, as well as campaigns to attract more people to energy efficiency professions, thus supporting Article 28 EED implementation.
This topic targets Member States and LIFE-associated countries that have not yet updated their national skills platform and roadmap through the BUILD UP Skills initiative:
Expected activities:
✅ (Re)establish a national skills platform bringing together relevant stakeholders, e.g. public authorities, professional chambers, training providers, social partners, academia, companies from the construction value chain
✅ Run skills intelligence activities, with a view to deliver a robust analysis of gaps in terms of occupations, skills and qualifications
✅ Co-design a national roadmap outlining priority measures, actors, resources and financing
✅ Run promotion and endorsement activities
✅ Deliver a large-scale national communication and awareness campaign to attract more people into energy efficiency professions.
